INCIDENT SUMMARY:

Paranormal investigation conducted at 30 East Drive. 30 East Drive is a house in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, that is known for allegedly being home to Europe's most violent poltergeist, often called "The Black Monk" or "Fred". The haunting, which reportedly began with the Pritchard family in 1966, features phenomena such as objects moving, levitating, and even attacking the family members, including daughter Diane being dragged upstairs by her hair. The case has been the subject of paranormal investigations and inspired the film When the Lights Went Out.

1. Pushchair / Doll Incident

  • A pushchair positioned approximately three inches from the stair-edge fell down a small number of steps.

  • The doll contained within was ejected, striking a placed bell in the process, which alerted the team.

  • All officers were in the kitchen at the time of the incident.

2. Light & Shadow Anomalies

  • Corners of the living room were observed to darken unnaturally.

  • Shadow-like figures were seen moving across doorways between the living room, kitchen, and hallway.

  • Visual disturbances were also noted when focusing on one officer. His appearance was changing, this could be explained by darker lighting however we were all seeing it the same.

3. Emotional / Psychological Responses

  • One officer experienced a sudden, overwhelming feeling of anger.

  • Several officers reported feelings of being watched and general unease.

  • Strong discomfort was reported when observing the mirror, alleged to act as a portal.

  • Other unexplainable emotional fluctuations were experienced across the team.

4. Audible Phenomena

  • Multiple knocks were heard in apparent response to verbal call-outs.

  • Distinct footsteps were heard upstairs while all officers were positioned downstairs. This was not the attached house.

  • Additional unexplained sounds were recorded, contributing to a heightened sense of being observed.

5. Object Movement

  • Ping-pong balls, placed as controlled trigger objects, moved without any identified environmental cause (no drafts or officer interference detected).

6. Recorded Disturbances

  •  Certain visual anomalies were captured on camera during the investigation. As you can see from the attached.

CONCLUSION:

The investigation at 30 East Drive produced numerous unexplained occurrences, including object movement, shadow figures, auditory responses, and significant emotional reactions amongst officers. While some phenomena (e.g., the pushchair incident) may be tested under controlled conditions, the combination of corroborated experiences, multiple witnesses, and recorded disturbances indicates heightened potential for paranormal activity.

RECOMMENDATION:

Further investigation at 30 East Drive is strongly advised. The evidence gathered suggests there is “something bubbling away” at this location, warranting detailed follow-up scrutiny with extended monitoring and environmental controls.
