Middleton Hall is set in 42 acres of gardens and is an amazing historical location. There has been a building here for over 1000 years. Indeed there are records that show some of it was leased to the Knights Templar.
It served as a family home to the de Marmion family and the Willoughby family who lived there for nearly 500 years. A famous resident was Francis Willughby who was a great naturalist and worked with John Ray Francis to produce several important books.
John Peel, the MP for Tamworth also resided at the Hall. He was a cousin of Robert Peel who set up the Metropolitan Police and there is a small museum dedicated to Policing at the Hall.
It is now run but the Middleton Hall Restoration Trust, a registered charity.
Middleton Hall is renowned for its paranormal occurrences. There is the Grey lady, the most famous spirit, often seen roaming the halls and corridors. She was seen as far back as the 1800’s.
Shadowy figures have been observed on the stair case and moving between rooms.
Unexplained noises: Visitors have reported hearing disembodied voices, dragging sounds and footsteps.
Poltergeist activity: Objects have been known to shift locations, and doors have been seen to slam on their own.

The Four Crosses Inn was built in 1636 from old shipping timbers, some of which are purposed to be over 1000 years old. it was established as a coaching inn to serve travellers on Watling Street. this was an established thoroughfare and was originally one of the main Roman roads in the Uk. It had various additions added over the years and ceased to trade as a public house in 2019. There are many stories related to the Inn from local lore as well as paranormal sources. these have not been verified historically. However the Inn has been featured in several paranormal shows . Most recently “Will and Ralph should know better”.
The building itself is set over three floors with a cellar. The cellar has been known to flood due to the water table and there are also attic spaces. There are dark and damp spaces that all contribute to the atmosphere of this location.
The building is now being renovated by the current owners an is very popular with paranormal enthusiasts. Recently a new section of the house has been opened for investigators.

There is an accent monument at this site. Monks tended the land the site is on. There is also some thought that the battle of Naseby may actually have been fought in this area rather than the present location. It is highly likely that troops massed in this area before battle.
Various Saxon treasures have also been found in the area along with other artefacts.

INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING
Tudor world is a living history museum in Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire. It is located on Sheep Street in what was known as the Shrieve’s House. The museum represents life in Tudor England (approx 1483-1603) through interactive and sensory exhibits. There are all the sights, sounds, smells of Tudor times as well as costumed guides.
Tudor museum is in a timber framed house whose foundations date back to 1196. Most of the building is now Tudor or later, the facade is from 1470 but much of this was rebuilt after the Stratford fire in 1954, it was named Shrieve’s House after William Shrieve, an archer for King Henry VIII, who was its first recorded tenant in 1536. In the 16th century the building was a tavern run by William Rogers. He is believed to have taken inspiration from Shakespeare’s comic character Falstaff. Shakespeare’s daughter, Suzannah, was also a close friend of Rogers’ daughter.
During the Civil War and the battle of Edgehill, the house was used to billet Parliamentary soldiers, then the first mayor of Stratford lived in the building. The house eventually became known as “Falstaff’s House” before later being rebranded as the Tudor World Museum.
